The slim-line DIN rail mountable enclosure has a small footprint and, since it draws power from your computer’s USB bus, an additional power supply is not required. Simply plug the converter into an available USB port on your computer or USB hub and install the drivers supplied on CD ROM. This model uses pluggable terminal blocks on the RS-422/485 side. Two LEDs indicate data transmit or receive.  The BB-USPTL4 draws power from the USB port so no power supply is required. Simply install the drivers supplied on CD ROM and plug the converter into an available USB port on your computer or USB hub. The device show ups as an additional COM port in the Windows Device Manager, and is compatible with Windows applications.

The RS-232 port is a DB9 Male connector wired as a DTE with full hardware handshake support. It can handle standard RS-232 data rates up to 460.8 Kbps.

Each unit comes with 1 meter USB cable and a driver disk. Drivers support Windows platforms up to Windows 8 in 32 and 64 bit implementations.
